Originally titled Unknown White Male is a thriller film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, starring Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, January Jones, Aidan Quinn, Bruno Ganz and Frank Langella. This movie is based on a French novel "Out of My Head" by Didier van Cauwelaert.
Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) is a research biologist together with his wife, Liz Harris (January Jones), is to attend a biotechnology summit in Berlin, Germany. As they arrive in the hotel, Martin realizes he that forgot his briefcase at the airport. While heading for the airport in a taxi, he meet an accident bumping his head to the car door. Gina (Diane Kruger), the taxi driver, saves him from being drowned. Martin was brought to the hospital being out of conscious for 4 days. As he wakes up, he had mildly forgot about random things but he didn't forget about his wife and his name. Then he remembered his reason that he's in Germany, about the summit. He went right over at the hotel and he saw his wife with another man posing as Dr. Martin Harris B, saying that she doesn't know him.
I'm not going to tell you the whole story of course. That would spoil your urge to watch it!
This films "kinda" tease you in the middle because at first you knew like, "yeah, I discerned that would happen," but it did not. It's like a cake, it has a two-layered truth. :D But that didn't satisfy me the way "Salt" or "Inception" did. But, it's not bad actually. I can tell, it's worth the libre.
If you're not convinced, this is Rotten Tomatoes' review: Tomatometer: 56%. Audience: 68%.
"Liam Neeson elevates the proceedings considerably, but Unknown is ultimately too derivative -- and implausible -- to take advantage of its intriguing premise."
Watch it guys. Too generic of a story but not a waste. And relax, see a movie :)
